Mason a reçu la bourse Rodgers & Hammerstein Juilliard, le prix Marion Freschl de Juilliard pour une composition pour voix et orchestre, la première place au concours de composition de la National Federation of Music Clubs, ainsi que la première place au Lancaster Summer Arts Festival et le prix ASCAP Young Composers, présenté par Aaron Copland". La violoniste, Tosca Opdam, soutenue par le Budapest Scoring Orchestra que dirige Peter Illényi, délivre un jeu virtuose d’une extrême précision, aux phrasés ciselés, aux respirations idéales.
