« Golden Age » est un vibrant hommage à l’art du bel canto dans toute sa splendeur expressive et technique. Erin Morley, née en 1980 à Salt Lake City (Utah), est Issue d’une famille de musiciens, elle commence très jeune ses études de piano et de violon avant de se tourner vers le chant. Elle se forme à l’Eastman School of Music, puis obtient un Master of Music et un Artist Diploma au Juilliard School Opera Center. Sa tenue vocale et une expressivité raffinée, font d’elle une figure incontournable du bel canto contemporain. Lawrence Brownlee, né en 1972 à Youngstone (Ohio), après des études musicales au Anderson University puis à la Jacobs School of Music de l’Université d’Indiana, se fait rapidement remarquer en remportant le grand prix des Metropolitan Opera National Council Auditions en 2001. Il fait ses débuts professionnels en 2002 dans « Le Barbier de Séville » de Gioacchino Rossini (1792-1868), rôle qu’il incarne ensuite sur de nombreuses scènes internationales. Il incarne une esthétique vocale d’une indéniable maîtrise, alliant virtuosité et élégance stylistique. Magistralement servi par deux des voix les plus accomplies de leur génération et par l’orchestre qui les accompagne, cet album est un incontournable à ne pas manquer.
