Cette "Collection Schumann" comprend sept œuvres de Robert Schumann (Trois Fantasiestücke pour violon et piano Op.73, Sonate pour violon et piano N°3 en la mineur WoO 2, Romances pour violon et piano Op.94, Sonate pour violon et piano N°1 en la mineur Op.105, Traümerei Op.15 N°7, Sonate pour violon et piano N°2 en ré mineur Op.121, Concerto pour violon et orchestre en ré mineur WoO 2), ainsi que les "Trois Romances pour violon et piano Op.22" de Clara Schumann. Comme le soulignait Jean-Alexandre Ménétrier : "La composition de musique de chambre de Robert Schumann s’effectue en cinq étapes décisives : elles mettent en lumière la nature même de son génie, qui s’exprime par éruptions isolées". Le violoniste Pierre Fouchenneret et le pianiste Théo Fouchenneret "posent la première pierre d’une "Collection Schumann" avec ce volume inaugural consacré aux œuvres pour violon du compositeur allemand. Au triptyque des sonates pour violon et piano répond le célèbre Concerto pour piano et orchestre, maillon essentiel du répertoire, interprété par l’Orchestre Régional de Normandie sous la direction de son directeur musical, Jean Deroyer".
