Cet album explore la transition entre la musique vocale et instrumentale, mettant en avant des compositions qui ont contribué à l’émancipation des instruments à cordes et à vent, signées notamment par Girolamo Frescobaldi, Ercole Pasquini, Tarquinio Merula, Marco Uccellini, ou encore Dario Castello. Seicento Stravagante a été fondé en 2018 et est formé par David Brutti au cornet à bouquin et Nicola Lamon à l’orgue et au clavecin. L’ensemble se consacre à l’interprétation du répertoire italien du XVIIe siècle, mettant en valeur la virtuosité instrumentale et l’exubérance mélodique de cette époque. Seicento Stravagante est également actif dans la valorisation du patrimoine des orgues historiques: les deux musiciens réalisent régulièrement des enregistrements audio et vidéo en utilisant les plus prestigieux orgues de la renaissance et du baroque. Pour ce SACD, la violoniste, Rossella Croce, fait partie de la fête sonore de cet enregistrement remarquable. This album explores the transition between vocal and instrumental music, highlighting compositions that contributed to the emancipation of string and wind instruments, notably by Girolamo Frescobaldi, Ercole Pasquini, Tarquinio Merula, Marco Uccellini, and Dario Castello. Seicento Stravagante was founded in 2018 and consists of David Brutti on cornetto and Nicola Lamon on organ and harpsichord. The ensemble is dedicated to performing the Italian repertoire of the 17th century, highlighting the instrumental virtuosity and melodic exuberance of that era. Seicento Stravagante is also active in promoting the heritage of historic organs: the two musicians regularly make audio and video recordings using the most prestigious Renaissance and Baroque organs. For this SACD, violinist Rossella Croce joins in the musical celebration of this remarkable recording.
