Enfin un album qui transcende la musique minimaliste avec brio ! Car cette dernière ne souffre pas la demi-mesure. Au sommaire, des œuvres et des compositeurs remarquables : Wojciech Kilar (1932-2013) et son "Concerto pour Piano et Orchestre" en trois mouvements, Henrik Mikolaj Gorecki (1933-2010) avec son "Concerto pour Piano et Orchestre à cordes" Op.40, en deux mouvements, Giya Kancheli (1935-2019) et sa "Valse Boston" pour piano et cordes, ainsi que Arvo Pärt (né en 1935), Simeon Ten Holt (1923-2012) et Philip Glass (né en 1937). Considéré comme le pianiste le plus doué et prometteur de sa génération en Pologne, Szymon Nehring est le seul Polonais à avoir remporté le premier prix du Concours international de piano Arthur Rubinstein de Tel Aviv (2017). Il a également été finaliste du Concours Chopin à Varsovie à l’âge de 19 ans seulement. Il a commencé sa formation en tant qu’élève de l’école primaire Myecsyslaw Karłowicz, puis de l’école secondaire de musique Frédéric Chopin à Cracovie (2008-2014), dont il a été diplômé avec distinction, dans la classe de piano d’Olga Lazarska, puis de l’Académie de musique de Bydgoszcz sous la direction du professeur Stefan Wojtas et, entre 2017 et 2019, il a suivi le programme de diplôme d’artiste à l’Université Yale de New Haven dans la classe du professeur Boris Berman. Depuis 2020, Szymon Nehring est doctorant à l’École doctorale de l’Académie de musique de Bydgoszcz dans la classe de Katarzyna Popowa-Zydroń, et en 2015, il a reçu la bourse Krystian Zimerman. L’Orchestre de la radio polonaise à Varsovie, le chef d’orchestre Michal Klausa, et Szymon Nehring forment ici un trio percutant et passionné pour un plaisir musical assuré.

At last, here is an album that brilliantly transcends minimalist music! Because minimalist music knows no half measures. On the menu are remarkable works and composers: Wojciech Kilar (1932-2013) and his “Concerto for Piano and Orchestra” in three movements, Henrik Mikolaj Gorecki (1933-2010) with his “Concerto for Piano and String Orchestra” Op.40, in two movements, Giya Kancheli (1935-2019) and her “Boston Waltz” for piano and strings, as well as Arvo Pärt (b. 1935), Simeon Ten Holt (1923-2012) and Philip Glass (b. 1937). Considered the most gifted and promising pianist of his generation in Poland, Szymon Nehring is the only Pole to have won first prize at the Arthur Rubinstein International Piano Competition in Tel Aviv (2017). He was also a finalist in the Chopin Competition in Warsaw at the age of just 19. He began his training as a student at the Myecsyslaw Karłowicz Primary School, then at the Fryderyk Chopin Music High School in Krakow (2008-2014), from which he graduated with distinction, in the piano class of Olga Lazarska, then at the Bydgoszcz Academy of Music under Professor Stefan Wojtas, and between 2017 and 2019 he attended the Artist Diploma program at Yale University in New Haven in the class of Professor Boris Berman. Since 2020, Szymon Nehring has been a doctoral student at the Doctoral School of the Bydgoszcz Academy of Music in the class of Katarzyna Popowa-Zydroń, and in 2015 he was awarded the Krystian Zimerman scholarship. The Polish Radio Orchestra in Warsaw, conductor Michal Klausa, and Szymon Nehring form a powerful, passionate trio for guaranteed musical pleasure.
