Sous l’intitulé "Vitrail" se cache un des meilleurs disques de musique de chambre du moment. En effet, le Trio Messiaen (David Petrlik, violon, Volodia Van Keuken, violoncelle, Philippe Hattat, piano) et le Trio Xenakis de percussionnistes (Emmanuel Jacquet, Rodolphe Théry, Nicolas Lamothe) s’associent pour interpréter la" Symphonie N°15 en la mineur Op.141" de Dimitri Chostakovitch (1906-1975), dans la transcription pour percussions, célesta, piano, violon et violoncelle signée Viktor Derevianko, ainsi, qu’en première mondiale au disque," Vitrail", datant de 2023, de Thierry Escaich (né en 1965). Après des études musicales au Conservatoire de Rosny-sous-bois, puis à celui de Montreuil-sous-Bois, Thierry Escaich entre au Conservatoire national supérieur de musique et de danse de Paris où il obtient huit premiers prix: harmonie, contrepoint, fugue, orgue, improvisation à l’orgue, analyse, composition et orchestration. Il est l’auteur d’une centaine d’œuvres où l’orgue tient une large place. Thierry Escaich compose pour les effectifs les plus divers, de l’instrument solo à l’orchestre symphonique, en passant par de nombreuses pièces de musique de chambre et vocales. Bref, un CD tout simplement admirable.

The title “Vitrail” hides one of the best chamber music records of the moment. In effect, the Messiaen Trio (David Petrlik, violon, Volodia Van Keuken, cello, Philippe Hattat, piano) and the Xenakis Trio of percussionists (Emmanuel Jacquet, Rodolphe Théry, Nicolas Lamothe) have come together to interpret the “Symphony N°15 in A minor Op.141” by Dimitri Chostakovitch (1906-1975) in a transcription for percussion, celesta, piano, violin and cello signed Viktor Derevianko, as well as, in its world premiere on records, “Vitrail,” dating from 2023, by Thierry Escaich (born in 1965). After musical studies at the Conservatory in Rosny-sous-Bois, Thierry Escaich entered the Conservatoire national supérieur de musique et de danse de Paris where he obtained eight first prizes: harmony, counterpoint, fugue, organ, improvisation on the organ, analysis, composition and orchestration. He is the author of about a hundred works in which the organ is center stage. Thierry Escaich has composed for various settings, from solo instruments to the symphonic orchestra, and in between many chamber and vocal music pieces. In short, here is quite simply an admirable CD.
