Voici réunies trois œuvres de jeunesse de Ludwig van Beethoven. Les trios à cordes de l’opus 9, pour violon, alto et violoncelle. "Les cinq Trios à cordes son tous de la même plume du jeune compositeur, et ne peuvent figurer parmi ses partitions majeures, précise le musicologue François-René Tranchefort. Il faut toutefois distinguer - quant à l’écriture, quant à la pensée musicale - entre les deux premiers (Op.3 et Op.8), non exempts de convention, et le groupe des trois derniers (Op.9) qui font sûrement la preuve d’une plus grande liberté et d’audaces non éloignées de celle rencontrées dans les Trios avec piano". Le trio Goldberg (Liza Kerob, Federico Hood, Thierry Amadi) fait son retour avec une interprétation des plus inspirée, de ces pages lumineuses. Son discours musical porte la marque d’une union parfaite, délivrant une finesse de jeu teintée de ferveur diffuse. Ce SACD est bel et bien une réussite incontournable, en pur DSD, offrant une prise de son respectueuse des timbres instrumentaux.

United here are three of Ludwig van Beethoven’s early works, the three string trios Opus 9 for violin, viola and cello. “The five string trios are all unmistakably by the young composer, and cannot be compared to his major works,” states the musicologist François-René Tranchefort. “It is however necessary to distinguish – vis-à-vis the writing and the musical thought – between the two first ones (Op.3 and Op.8), which are rather conventional, and the group of last three (Op.9) which demonstrate a great liberty and audacity similar to those found in the Piano trios.” The Goldberg Trio (Liza Kerob, Federico Hood, Thierry Amadi) returns with a most inspired interpretation of these luminous pages. Its musical voice is the mark of a perfect union, delivering a fineness of playing tinted with profuse fervor. This SACD is most definitely an indisputable winner, in pure DSD, that offers a sound recording that is respectful of instrumental tones.
