Pour ce troisième volume du "Mendelssohn Project" initié par le Dogma Chamber Orchestra sont proposés la Symphonie pour cordes N°7 en ré mineur et le Double Concerto pour violon, piano et orchestre en ré mineur également. Mikhail Gurewitsch s’en explique : "Nous avons pris cette décision programmatique en connaissance de cause, car la septième symphonie marque un tournant dans l’ensemble du cycle. Elargie dans son ampleur à la symphonie classique en quatre mouvements, elle ouvre la voie à la deuxième partie des symphonies pour cordes. La soif de création et le développement rapide de la composition du jeune Félix Mendelssohn sont impressionnants et se manifestent également dans le double concerto composé peu après". Avec puissance, vigueur et subtilité le Dogma Chamber Orchestra fait mouche, une nouvelle fois, par son engagement au fil de ces partitions rendues ainsi à leur lumière originelle. La passion est bien au rendez-vous de ce troisième volume, qui ne peut créer que l’impatience pour la suite du projet.

For this third volume of the “Mendelssohn Project,” conceived by the Dogma Chamber Orchestra, are proposed the Symphony for Strings N°7 in D minor and the Double Concerto for Violin, Piano, and Orchestra also in D minor. Mikhail Gurewitsch explains: “We took this programming decision with full knowledge of the facts, for the seventh symphony marks a turning point in the complete cycle. Expanded in its size to the classic symphony in four movements, it opens the way to the second part of the string symphonies. The creative thirst and rapid compositional development of the young Felix Mendelssohn are impressive and are also evident in the double concerto composed a short time thereafter.” With power, vigor, and subtilty the Dogma Chamber Orchestra hits the nail on the head once again by its commitment to these scores thus heard in their true light. True passion can also be heard in this third volume, thus making us impatient for the follow-up to the project.
