Voici un SACD de grande valeur artistique, portée par une interprétation puissante et implacable signée Susanna Mälkki. Regroupant deux partitions essentielles du compositeur hongrois Béla Bartók, le Concerto pour orchestre et la Musique pour cordes percussion et célesta, il met en lumière, une fois encore, un musicien plus que jamais "vivant". Car "Bartók reste une figure dominante de la musique du XXème siècle, - moins d’ailleurs par son "nationalisme" que par de profondes originalités : en particulier celles d’un essentiel équilibre de la forme, (l’application des principes du nombre d’or jouant un rôle déterminant dans les œuvres de la maturité), et celles de l’harmonie (qui propose, en pleine ambigüité, une sorte de synthèse entre la modalité et la tonalité, entre chromatisme et diatonisme), soulignait avec pertinence, François-René Tranchefort. Dirigeant, de main de maître, l’Orchestre Philharmonique de Helsinki, Susanna Mälkki transporte l’auditeur au sein d’une vision des plus accomplies. Un véritable feu d’artifice de timbres instrumentaux.
