Après un album remarquable, couronné d’un Opus D’Or, consacré aux Concertos pour violon de Tachaïkovsky/Barber (voir Opus HD N°179), le violoniste Johan Dalene nous revient avec un programme d’œuvres pour violon et piano, en compagnie du pianiste Ihle Hadland. Le programme en question se veut le reflet de la musique des pays du nord (suède, Finlande, Norvège, Danemark) avec "Suite im alten Stil" de Christian Sinding (1856-1941), "Deux Romances Sentimentales" Op.28 de Wilhelm Stenhammar (1871-1927), "Souvenir, Danse-Idylle et Berceuse" de Jean Sibelius (1865-1957) tirée des "Six Pièces" Op.79, "Romance en ré majeur" CNW 61 de Carl Nielsen (1865-1931), "Notturno e Danza" de Einojuhani Rautavaara (1928-2016), et la "Sonate pour violon N°1 Op.8 d’Edvard Grieg (1843-1907). Une vaste exploration, aux diverses influences, qui offre l’un des plus beaux panoramas musicaux des ces pays à la beauté suffocante, aux mystères prégnants. Johan Dalene et Ihle Hadland font de cette "Rapsodie Nordique" une invitation à la découverte que l’on s’empressera de concrétiser.
