Cette nouveauté SACD, du label Pentatone, explore la musique traditionnelle monastique du XVIIème siècle dans le nord Brabant. Son programme regroupe quatorze pièces" reconstruites", pour la circonstance, par Judith et Tineke Steenbrink, comme notamment des chants Grégoriens, les compositeurs Benedictus à Sancto Josepho (1642-1716), Cornelis Verdonck (1563-1625), Herman Hollanders (1595- ca 1640), Carl Rosier (1640-1725) ou encore Herman Finkers, né en 1954 et son "Ave Maria" contemporain. Tout cela sonne magnifiquement avec l’ensemble Holland Baroque et les chanteurs Julie Thyana Roset, Deborah Cachet, Alex Potter, Mirko Ludwig, Carlos Negrin Lopez, Dominik Wörner, qui offrent, par la même occasion, la découverte d’un pan méconnu de la musique baroque du nord de l’Europe. Saluons également Tineke Steenbrink et Haru Kitamika à l’orgue, au clavecin et au virginal. Voyage intérieur s’il en est, cet enregistrement distille un plaisir musical que l’on ne saurait ignorer, et vers lequel vous reviendrez souvent.
