La guitariste Gaëlle Solal est un véritable phénomène. Elle le démontre ici, avec panache, au sein d’une musicalité où la finesse de jeu n’est pas le moindre atout. Car disons-le d’emblée, ce SACD est un des plus grands enregistrements consacrés à la guitare classique de ces dix dernières années. Tout ici est équilibre parfait, virtuosité porteuse d’émotion, souffle musical tangible, dans un prise de son détaillée et précise à souhait en pur DSD. Le programme se partage notamment entre les compositeurs suivants : Roland Dyens avec « Hommage à Villa-Lobos » et la pièce « Tuhu » donnant son titre à l’album, Pixinguinha avec « Carinhoso » dans l’arrangement signé Marco Pereira, Heitor Villa-Lobos avec « Choros N°1 », « Suite Populaire Brésilienne », « Tristorosa » dans l’arrangement de Marcello Gonçalves et Gaëlle Solal, « Prélude N°2 », « Modinha » arrangée par Isalas Savio, Egberto Gismonti et « Agua e Vinho » arrangée également par Gaëlle Solal. Bref, un florilège de pièces fascinantes rendues avec brio. Assurément un SACD à marquer d’une pierre blanche.
