Voici réunie ici l’intégralité des oeuvres pour piano et cordes du compositeur russe Dimitri Chostakovitch : le Trio pour piano et cordes N°1 Op.8 en un seul mouvement, le Quintette pour piano et cordes en sol mineur Op.57, la Sonate pour violon et piano Op.134 dans laquelle nous retrouvons un hommage à Alban berg avec la citation de la première mesure du thème initial du Concerto « A la mémoire d’un ange », Moderato pour violoncelle et piano, La Sonate pour violoncelle et piano en ré mineur Op. 40 datant de 1934, le Trio pour piano et cordes N°2 en mi mineur Op.67, dans la tradition de Rachmaninov et Tchaikovsky et la Sonate pour violon et piano Op.147, dernière œuvre achevée pour laquelle le regretté Pierre-Emile barbier soulignait « Il est difficile de cerner l’influence du climat mélancolique, crépusculaire, sur les associations parodiques, dérisoires par instants, qu’elle juxtapose ». Dans ces pages admirables, le Chostakovitch Ensemble DSCH nous comble littéralement par un engagement impressionnant, au souffle puissant, donnant l’impression unique de pouvoir toucher la musique. Here reunited are the complete works for piano and strings by the Russian composer Dimitri Chostakovitch: the Trio for piano and strings Noº1 Op.8 in a single movement, the Quintet for piano and strings in G minor Op.57, the Sonata for violin and piano Op.134 in which we find a homage to Alban Berg with the quote from the first measure of the initial theme from the Concerto “In memory of an angel,” Moderato for cello and piano, the Sonata for cello and piano in D minor Op. 40 dating from 1934, the Trio for piano and strings Nº2 in E minor Op. 67, in the tradition of Rachmaninov and Tchaikovsky, and the Sonata for violin and piano, Op.147, the last finished work for which the late Pierre-Emile Barbier states “It is difficult to grasp the influence of the melancholic, twilight climate, on the parodic associations, derisory by moment, that it juxtaposes.” In these admirable pages, the Chostakovitch Ensemble DSCH literally overwhelms us by its impressive commitment, powerfully performed, giving us the singular impression of being able to touch the music. This observation is confirmed from beginning to end of a faultless musical parcourse where all becomes revelation and beauty. Here is a set to savor until tipsy.
