Voici une heureuse parution qui nous fait découvrir deux jeunes talents, celui de l’altiste Dana Zemtsov et celui de la pianiste Catheljine Noorland. Le programme choisi comprend la Sonate pour alto et piano de Henri Vieuxtemps (1820-1881), la Suite « 1919 » pour alto et piano d’Ernest Bloch (1880-1959), Carmen Fantaisie de Georges Bizet (1838-1875), Franz Waxman (1906-1967) et Mikhail Kugel (1946), ainsi que Mélodie dans le style ancien pour alto et piano d’Evgeni Zemtsov, né en 1940 et grand-père de Dana qui confie : « Le style nostalgique dans lequel cette pièce moderne est composée (elle date de 1968), avec sa mélodie lyrique, ornementée dans le style baroque, qui s’impose sur des harmonies fraîches et contrastées, est seulement l’une des raisons de l’admirer ». Avec ferveur et passion, Dana Zemtsov et Catheljine Noorland impriment à ces œuvres un lyrisme savamment dosé, au cœur duquel l’inspiration de leur discours musical se fait pur envoûtement. Les sonorités déployées sont une véritable incarnation des timbres en présence, qu’une prise de son exemplaire soutient pleinement. Mais le parcours de ces deux jeunes artistes ne fait que débuter. Gageons que leur carrière offrira d’autres moments musicaux de cette qualité, pour le plus grand bonheur des mélomanes.
