Voici le premier enregistrement de trois œuvres chorales du Compositeur américain Robert Kyr. Ce dernier, né en 1952 est notamment l’auteur de douze symphonies, trois concertos pour violon ainsi que de pièces de musique de chambre. Le programme qui nous occupe ici regroupe une partie de sa production vocale. « The Singer’s Ode » datant de 2012 « invoque le pouvoir de la musique pour analyser les rapports de l’amour humain et de l’amour divin » souligne Robert Kyr. « The Cloud of Unknowing » de 2013 est une cantate en deux parties sur des textes de Sainte-Thérése d’Avila. Et pour finir, « Songs of the Soul » datant de 2011 est également une cantate, mais cette fois dans le style Bach, dans laquelle, précise le compositeur, « la réflexion spirituelle continue émanant du discours crée le lien thématique entre les mouvements ». La musique chorale de Robert Kyr est d’une beauté rarement contemplée en musique contemporaine. Here is the first recording of three choral works by the American composer Robert Kyr.
