Toujours dans sa série limitée « Réminiscences » le label Praga Digitals propose ici la résurrection sonore d’œuvres célèbres de Manuel de Falla, avec le ballet de 1925 « El Amor Brujo » et la soprano Marina de Gabarain accompagnée par l’Orchestre de la Suisse Romande que dirige Ernest Ansermet, le « Concierto » pour piano, flûte, hautbois, clarinette, violon et violoncelle, avec Robert Veyron-Lacroix et l’Orchestre National d’Espagne que dirige Ataulfo Argenta, les « Chansons Populaires Espagnoles » pour soprano et piano, avec Victoria de Los Angeles et Gonzalo Soriano, puis pour piano solo, « Cuatro Obras Espanolas » et « Fantasia Betica » par Alicia de Larrocha. Voici bel et bien une anthologie généreuse, près de 80mn, dans un remastering DSD qui ne l’est pas moins, d’œuvres essentielles d’un compositeur « qui a inventé la musique moderne espagnole en ressuscitant les chants, rythmes et danses authentiques d’une Andalousie à la fois légendaire et toujours vivante » (Pierre-Emile Barbier).

Here is a truly generous anthology of close to eighty minutes, in a DSD remastering of equal standing, of essential works by a composer “who invented modern Spanish music by reviving the songs, rhythms and authentic dances of an Andalusia that is both legendary and still alive” (Pierre-Emile Barbier).
