Quatre compositeurs tchèques se partagent l’affiche de ce SACD. Quatre compatriotes de l’école nationale au XIXème siècle. Quatre figures différentes dont Josef Bohuslav Foerster (1859-1951) est probablement la moins connue. Ce denier est ici représenté par le Trio pour Piano N°2 en si bémol majeur Op.38. A ses côtés, Vitezslav Novak (1870-1949), également avec le Trio pour piano N°2 en ré mineur « Quasi una Ballata », Zdenek Fibich (1850-1900) et son Trio pour piano en fa mineur. Pour finir, Leos Janacek (1854-1928) et « Pohadka » (le Conte ) pour violoncelle et piano (seule œuvre du compositeur pour ces instruments), enregistré pour la première fois dans sa version originale en quatre mouvements. « Jiri Zahradka vient de proposer (décembre 2007) une édition critique partant des deux seules rédactions comportant quatre mouvements ainsi que les corrections constamment reportées par l’auteur sur les trois autres », précise Pierre-Emile Barbier. A l’image du tableau, signé Foerster, illustrant le livret de l’enregistrement, le Trio Kinsky de Prague enchante par des couleurs envoûtantes. Tout au long des partitions abordées c’est une œuvre picturale qui prend corps, un tableau fait de « saveurs » musicales, au sein d’une interprétation magistrale. Dans une prise de son DSD exemplaire, c’est bel et bien un SACD de tout premier plan qui nous est proposé.

Four Czech composers share the program for this SACD. Four compatriots from the national school of the 19th century. Four different figures, of whom Josef Bohuslav Foerster (1859-1951) is probably the least known. He is here represented by the Trio for Piano N°2 in B flat major Op.38. Also to be found are Vitezslav Novak (1870-1949), he too with the Trio for Piano N°2 in D minor “Quasi una Ballata,” Zdenek Fibich (1850-1900) and his Trio for Piano in /f minor. And to finish, Leos Janacek (1854-1928) and “Pohadka” (The Tale) for Cello and Piano (the only work for these instruments by the composer), recorded for the first time in its original four-movement version. “Jiri Zahradka just came out (December 2007) with a critical edition based on the only two editions made up of four movements, as well as the corrections constantly made by the composer to the three others,” states Pierre-Emile Barbier. Like the painting, signed Foerster, illustrating the brochure, the Kinsky Trio from Prague amaze us by their captivating colors. As the score plays out, a pictorial work takes shape, a painting made of musical “flavors” brought out by a magisterial interpretation. In an exemplary DSD sound recording, here is an SACD that is without exaggeration one of the very first order.
